About us
George IV is a period townhouse offering fantastic sea views across one of Brighton's finest squares. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, as befits our location in the heart of laidback Brighton. We are right by the shops, the Lanes and the conference facilities and directly opposite the ever-interesting West Pier. There are dozens of restaurants within a minute's walk, and Brighton makes a great base for exploring London (50 minutes by rail).
We have wonderful sea-view rooms, all warmly decorated and extremely spacious, including a balcony room which takes everyone's breath away. The rooms at the back are really nice too. The AA always compliment our housekeeping so the rooms are pretty immaculate, as well as being en-suite.
The lounge features a magnificent 50s jukebox which you are welcome to play at no charge if the mood takes you. There are books, newspapers and board games for guests who prefer quieter entertainment. The rooms have TVs with DVD players, and free WiFi internet access (there's a PC in reception if you leave the laptop at home).
We are one of the few guesthouses in Brighton to have a lift. Although usually reliable, it is mechanical and so has the potential to break down – therefore we prefer guests not to be totally reliant on it.
Food
All our guests have access to our wi-fi cafe which has stunning sea views and high ceilings where you can enjoy the view with a nice cup of tea. We have put a lot of thought into food. So if you fancy bed and breakfast or b&b then head downstairs to our cafe where you'll be able to enjoy a cooked breakfast or continental all prepared by our home cook Trish. We have a small but perfectly formed breakfast menu.
